Colombia orders two Dauphin helos for naval use

02 October 2018

Colombia has acquired two Airbus AS365N3 Dauphin helicopters to be used by the country's navy.

The second-hand aircraft, which were built in 2004, will be delivered in December for use aboard the Colombian Navy's 20 de Julio-class offshore patrol vessels.

Plans for the aircraft to be operated from the Almirante Padilla-class frigates have also had to be temporarily shelved after it was found that the ships' hangars are too small. A study to modify the hangars is under way.
