According to a Jankel press release published on 17 September, the variants are available on Toyota Land Cruiser 79 series and Toyota Hilux base platforms, which offer increased capacity and payload but maintain the mobility and tactical fighting capability of earlier Fox 4x4 configurations. The 6x6 Fox has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 6,300 kg with a configurable payload of up to 3,000 kg and is capable of speeds up to 155 km/h at maximum GVW.

For the new 6x6 variants, Jankel partnered with NSV and MDT and the vehicles use multidrive technology that has been used commercially and was originally developed in Australia and manufactured by NSV.

Sam Foreman, Jankel head of sales, told Jane’s at DVD 2018 that the vehicle benefits from commonality with the existing Fox fleet but can also be configured according to exact customer requirements.
