Brazil’s Navy Aeronautical Directorate (DAerM) signed an offset agreement on behalf of the Brazilian Navy with M7 Aerospace and Elbit Systems on 12 September.
The offset work packages, valued at approximately USD110 million, are to be executed by AEL Sistemas, a Brazilian operation of Elbit Systems, and are linked to the modernisation of four C-1 Trader COD/AAR (carrier onboard delivery/air-to-air refuelling) aircraft to KC-2 multipurpose standard for Brazil.
Under the agreement, the development of a computer-based training system and avionics trainer for the naval air training centre will be undertaken, as well as the transfer of technology (ToT) for production and maintenance of the avionics systems.
