AFA 2018: Wilson expects 24% growth in squadrons by 2025-30

The US Air Force (USAF) will add 74 new squadrons by 2025-30 to its current amount of 312 as part of its squadron revitalisation effort, USAF Secretary Heather Wilson told an audience on 17 September at the annual Air Force Association (AFA) conference in National Harbor, Maryland.

Seventy-four new squadrons would be a 24% increase. C4ISR squadrons would get the biggest boost of 22 new squadrons, according to briefing slides shown during Wilson’s presentation.
