Australia appoints new head of defence procurement

12 September 2018

The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has appointed a new head of its procurement division, the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).

The DoD said on 11 September that Anthony Fraser will take up the role in November. Fraser, who has previously served in the Australian Army and the now-defunct Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), is currently head of Airbus’s activities in Australia and New Zealand.

Fraser replaces Kim Gillis, who has been deputy secretary of the CASG since 2015 when it was established to replace the DMO.
