Boeing announced on 17 August that it had completed the first series of test flights under a partnership between the company and the Australian state of Queensland to develop autonomous technologies.
In partnership with the Queensland government under Boeing’s Advance Queensland Autonomous Systems Platform Technology Project, the March 2018 teaming has resulted in 14 local SMEs being contracted under AUD2.3 million (USD1.68 million) in contract awards.
These partnerships helped generate rapid design, development and testing of autonomous technologies, Boeing says, and it is the largest autonomous systems development for the company outside of the US.
