The US Air Force (USAF) is looking to procure one Basler DC3-TP67 (BT-67) special mission aircraft and to modify another for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer, which is likely to be Mauritania.
An amended request for information (RFI) issued by the service on 6 August calls for the procurement of one aircraft fitted for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), as well as the upgrade, to the same enhanced configuration, of an aircraft that has already been delivered.
There are currently six military operators of the BT-67, of which only Mauritania fields the platform in a specialist ISR role (the others being used as gunships, as well as for transport and scientific research).
