German land systems manufacturer Rheinmetall AG generated profits of EUR154 million (USD179 million) in the first half of 2018, according to financial results published on 2 August. This marked a significant rise of 15% year on year and came despite a 1.9% fall in sales, which were EUR2.75 billion in the period.
Rheinmetall chief executive officer Armin Papperger said, “Given the good development, especially in the second quarter, we are confident of achieving the targets we have set ourselves in the current fiscal year.
