The US State Department has approved the sale of 300 Lockheed Martin AGM-114R Hellfire air-to-surface missiles to Kuwait, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on 30 July.
The DSCA said the proposed deal, which includes 19 M261 launchers for 70 mm rockets, spares, tools, training, and support services, is estimated to be worth USD30.4 million.
Kuwait already has other Hellfire variants, having requested 96 laser-guided AGM-114K and 288 radar-guided AGM-114L missiles for the 16 AH-64D Apache attack helicopters it received in 2007.
