FOUR soldiers were killed when Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen militants attacked and overran a military base in Bar Sanguni, near Kismayo in Somalia's Jubbada Hoose region on 23 July, Radio Risala reported, Reports added that six militants were also killed during the attack. The base was re-captured later that day. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack and claimed to have killed 27 soldiers.
