Farnborough 2018: Inzpire supports EDA helicopter training

20 July 2018

Inzpire’s Helicopter Service Division is supporting the European Defence Agency (EDA) in improving its members’ rotary-wing capabilities, with an emphasis on tactics courses.

Chris Raynes, Inzpire’s head of helicopter services, said during the Farnborough International Airshow on 18 July that the EDA awarded the company a contract in January to provide training, with a focus on the helicopter tactics course (HTC).

The first HTC was held at Royal Air Force Linton on Ouse in the United Kingdom in April. The three-week course was attended by Mi-24, Mi-17, EC-135, and EC-145 crews from the Czech Republic and Germany. The first week included classroom-based theory on mission planning, electronic warfare (EW), defensive aids systems, battlespace management, and combat search and rescue.
