UMS Skeldar has developed a new maritime variant of its V-200 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), it announced at the Farnborough Airshow, being held 16-22 July.
The V-200B is an improvement of the baseline heavy-fuelled unmanned helicopter developed by UMS Skeldar.
“The new version [boasts] enhanced features including extended endurance, engine management system, and payload capabilities,” the company said, noting that the V-200B completed its trials earlier in 2018.
“It is no secret that more players are attempting to enter the maritime market for rotary UAVs. Recent navy contracts have stipulated the role and specification, and this has confirmed our strategy of development is absolutely the right move at the right time.
