- Northrop Grumman enters full-rate production of the F-35 centre fuselage
- Full-rate aircraft production will be a critical milestone as the programme sets to increase production
Northrop Grumman’s centre fuselage on the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) recently entered full-rate production (FRP), according to a company statement.
Northrop Grumman spokesperson Omar Torres said on 2 July that the company entered the full production rate of 1.5 days per centre fuselage in November, while the entire assembly line reached the 1.5 day production interval in early June. At this rate, Northrop Grumman will produce roughly 20 centre fuselages per month.
