South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) is furthering efforts to promote import substitution in the defence sector by engaging with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance awareness of production opportunities, DAPA said on 18 June.
DAPA said it aims to stage a number of conferences across the country to promote greater SME involvement in producing components and subsystems for locally manufactured military equipment. The first of these conferences is being staged in Daejeon, in the central region of the country, from 19 June.
