Ecuador has signed a deal with Sikorsky-PZL Mielec for one PZL M28 Skytruck aircraft for the country’s army.
The deal, which was signed on 16 April and announced two days later, will see the twin-turboprop aircraft replace an IAI Arava aircraft that crashed in March 2016, killing all 22 military personnel on board.
Able to operate from unprepared strips, the M28 will be used by the Ecuadorian Army to fly in and out of austere locations such as those found at Lorocachi, Montalvo and Taisha.
