The US Army is expected to begin testing, in mid-2018, both variants of a mobile version of its Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS).
In March the army awarded Raytheon and Palantir Technologies contracts to provide tactical units across the active, reserve, and National Guard components with the DCGS-Army (DCGS-A) Increment 1 Capability Drop 1 (CD1) solution.
Both companies will go through a series of demonstrations before the army decides how best to move forward.
DCGS is an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance system that enables deployed soldiers to collect, process, and display intelligence information from a variety of sources and sensors.
