Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has reopened a manufacturing plant within the PPT Namenska military production complex as part of a broader scheme to modernise the national defence industrial base with national and international investment.
The plant at Trstenik was formerly reopened on 25 March having been renovated at a cost of EUR3.5 million (USD4.3 million).
The investment was part of a wider EUR43.6 million government-backed modernisation programme that Serbia announced in April 2017.
PPT Namenska is a producer of 38 mm and 40 mm grenade launchers; aircraft landing gear; 60 mm, 81 mm, 82 mm, and 120 mm mortar systems and the Milosh tracked unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).
