The US Army has awarded BAE Systems a USD97 million contract for a combined order of Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) IIIs and Family of Weapon Sight-Individuals (FWS-1s).
The orders are part of a five-year USD434 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) army contract for the ENVG III and FWS-I programme.
In October 2016 the company said it received a USD13.5 million order to begin producing the FWS-I for soldiers.
ENVG, a lightweight, helmet-mounted system, integrates image intensification and long-wave infrared (IR) into a single image and integrates the sight picture/reticle from FWS-I as well as operational graphics from Nett Warrior into ENVG, according to the army.
