Thales recorded a 10% decrease in new orders year-on-year in 2017, contributed in large to 2016 seeing the company receive a 36-unit order from India for the Dassault Rafale.
The company provides the radar and other electronics for the aircraft, which helped the company record revenues of EUR16.51 billion (USD20.43 billion) in 2016, which dropped to EUR14.92 billion in 2017.
Despite this, the company claims that it achieved the target of EUR14 billion in order intake that it set at the beginning of 2017, with the order book standing at EUR31.91 billion at the end of the year, which it notes is about two years’ worth of sales.
