Boeing and Tata inaugurate Indian Apache facility

01 March 2018

Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Boeing inaugurated their joint facility to produce fuselages for the Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopter on 1 March.

The new factory in Hyderabad will be operated by the two companies’ joint venture, Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), which was established in 2015.

A joint statement said the new facility – spread over 14,000 m 2 and employing 350 workers – will be the “sole global producer” of Apache fuselages delivered by Boeing to its global customers including the US Army.

The facility will also produce secondary structures and vertical spar boxes for the Apache. The delivery of the first fuselage is expected in 2018.
