JetLease and Arista Aviation have revealed that they have combined to provide ex-US Army Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters to the second-hand market.
While the initial agreement was signed about two years ago, the companies have only just revealed details of the arrangement, which involves Arista modifying the airframes and JetLease offering them on a lease or sales basis under approvals granted to the team that allow it to provide them for military and civil applications.
There is potential for about 600 ex-army aircraft to eventually be released for the second-hand market, and JetLease and Arista already have 20 ready for delivery, Russell Dise, president of JetLease, told Jane’s.
