Pentagon budget 2019: US Army seeks end to WIN-T funding

US Army concerns that its tactical network would not enable forces to compete against a peer threat has led the service to cease funding its Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (WIN-T) Increment 2, shifting funds into two new lines supporting the army's new network strategy: the Situational Information Transport (SIT) and Tactical Network Technology Mod in Service (TNT MIS).

The army’s fiscal year 2019 (FY 2019) request funds continued fielding the WIN-T 2 to all active component infantry and Stryker brigade combat teams (BCTs).
