The US Air Force’s (USAF’s) fiscal year (FY) 2019 budget request of USD194.2 billion, released on 12 February, would be a 14% boost on what the service requested in FY 2018.
The Pentagon is operating under FY 2017 spending levels as it has been funded by repeated continuing resolutions (CRs) since FY 2018 began on 1 October. The USAF was enacted roughly USD164 billion in FY 2017 in both base and overseas contingency operations (OCO) spending.
