- Budget request seeks three additional radars in FY 2019
- The G/ATOR is entering full-rate production
The US Marine Corps (USMC) is requesting USD 224 million in its fiscal year (FY) 2019 budget to fund six AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radars (G/ATOR).
The request increases the total number of radars from three to six as G/ATOR transitions into the first year of full-rate production.
It was almost a year ago that the marines took delivery of the first of six production S-band G/ATOR radars. The first two S-band G/ATOR Block I systems are to be delivered to the USMC aviation combat element (ACE) in February 2018.
