Singapore Airshow 2018: Israel’s Rafael invests in artificial intelligence to boost market share

Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is putting greater emphasis on developing 4th industrial revolution (IR) technologies as part of efforts to expand capability and secure stronger market share in key markets such as the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Ran Gozali, Rafael executive vice-president and general manager of the company’s research, development, and engineering (RD&E) division said the focus is intended to enable the company to integrate such technologies into Rafael’s wide variety of existing products as well as support the development of new products for domestic and export customers.

Speaking to Jane’s on 7 February at the Singapore Airshow, Gozali said, “What we have developed over the years, there are a lot of unique algorithms in a variety of disciplines that lead us to the next revolution and the bringing of technologies such as artificial intelligence into next-generation military systems.”
