Latvia plans to invest EUR50 million (USD61.7 million) a year from 2018 to 2021 in developing military infrastructure, including two training areas, the Ministry of Defence said on its website on 25 January.
The priority is to expand facilities at military bases dedicated to NATO forces. In 2018, 60% of allocated funds will be invested in the Ādaži base, which is being expanded to 13,050 ha. New facilities will also be built at Lielvarde air base.
