The US Marine Corps (USMC) is moving towards its Marine Corps Force 2025 scheme and has begun shifting force structure and developing its upcoming budget around the plan.
Officials started shifting force structures and capabilities in August to address Marine Corps Force 2025, Lieutenant General Robert Walsh, deputy commandant for combat development and integration, said during a 6 February briefing at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Defense conference.
A key part of that is moving fully developed information warfare forward, into Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) headquarters, by creating MEF Information Groups. The MEF Information Groups include cyber operations, signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and more, Lt Gen Walsh said.
