Russia tests Bumerang, Kurganets-25 armoured vehicles

04 February 2018

Preliminary testing of the Bumerang 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle and Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) is under way, the Russian military news agency Interfax-AVN reported at the end of January.

Sergei Suvarov, the head of marketing at Voenno-Promyshlennaya Kompaniya (Military-Industrial Company: VPK) told Interfax-AVN on 26 January that Bumerang testing is on schedule and state trials will begin after shortcomings are addressed.

He said Bumerang is already available in the form of the K-17 IFV and K-16 armoured personnel carrier (APC), with the possibility of creating an entire family of vehicles based on the platform, including armoured recovery, command post, reconnaissance, and anti-tank vehicles, depending on customer interest.
