Israel’s SemiConductor Devices (SCD) announced on 23 January that it had acquired US-based Quantum Imaging.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Quantum Imaging specialises in the development and manufacture of short-wave infrared (SWIR) cameras for military, industrial, and scientific users.
Some of the company’s camera systems are used for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) payloads, as well as other airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) applications.
SCD said the acquisition would help the company “strengthen and expand its SWIR related activities in the US defence and homeland security market”.
