Surface Navy 2018: SEWIP Lite set for first deliveries

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has completed build of the first two production examples of a compact variant of the US Navy’s (USN’s) Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 electronic warfare (EW) system.

Designated AN/SLQ-32(V)6C – and also dubbed SEWIP Lite – this scaled, lower-cost version of the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 SEWIP Block 2 equipment was originally conceived to met the ship fit constraints of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).

    Type Naval Fire-Control System (FCS). Development In 2005, following a competitive procurement process, Kollmorgen Electro-Optical (acquired by L-3 Communications in February 2012 and now operating as L-3 KEO) was chosen to provide the US Navy (USN) with an EOSS as part of the CG-47
