USN to form single strategic plan for readiness

02 January 2018

The US Navy (USN) will meld its two recent reviews into one plan for addressing service readiness issues, Admiral John Richardson, the Chief of Naval Operations, said in a recent message to service members.

“During my recent visits with sailors and leaders in Japan I've had many chances to discuss the findings in the Strategic Readiness Review [SRR], released on 14 December by Secretary of the Navy Richard V Spencer,” Adm Richardson wrote in a 22 December email to service members.

The SRR's strategic insights "are complimentary to the operational and tactical recommendations in the Comprehensive Review, released on 2 November”, Adm Richardson said.
