Brazilian Army targets July 2018 for 4x4 vehicle order

The Brazilian Army’s Manufacturing Directorate expects to order Light Multirole Vehicle (LMV) 4x4 protected vehicles from Iveco Latin America in July 2018, officials told Jane’s .

A single contract will be placed for initial batches of 32, 77, and 77 multirole vehicles with deliveries expected between 2020 and 2023, the Manufacturing Directorate said. LMV was selected as part of the service’s lightweight multi-purpose wheeled armored vehicle VBMT-LSR project in April 2016.

Contract negotiations are in a final phase and the deal next must be approved by Brazil’s Attorney General of the Union. The agreement includes training, services, and integrating command-and-control (C2) and weapon systems.
