Martin-Baker to supply ejection seats for Taiwan’s new jet trainers

15 December 2017

Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) has signed an agreement with UK ejection-seat specialist Martin-Baker to support Taiwan’s programme to develop and build advanced jet trainers (AJTs).

AIDC said in a statement that under the agreement, which was signed in London on 13 December, Martin-Baker would supply ejection seats for the AJT and that the two companies would look to expand collaboration across several technology areas.

“The contract between AIDC and Martin-Baker facilitates co-operation opportunities and also represents a major milestone in the launch of the AJT systems,” said AIDC. “Both parties will work together not only to achieve the goal of making the AJT a successful programme but to also extend future collaboration in such areas as ejection seats, pilot personal equipment, parachutes, and other equipment.”
