12 December 2017

The United States and South Korea will look to expand their defence industrial partnership to focus on addressing expanding threats from North Korea, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) in Seoul has said.

The focus on expanding industrial ties was highlighted at the South Korea-US Defense Acquisition and Security Cooperation conference in Washington DC on 12 December, which was co-hosted by DAPA alongside Korea Aerospace Industries, the Center for Strategic & International Studies, and the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade.

DAPA said in a statement that at the event, industry and government officials from both countries put emphasis on boosting industrial collaboration in responding to North Korean missile and nuclear threats.
