NIOA, an Australian manufacturer of firearms, ammunition and optics, has inaugurated an office in Canberra to support its in-country expansion.
Opening the office on 8 December, Australia’s Ministry for Defence Industry, Christopher Pyne, said the move represented “a new chapter in NIOA’s development”.
The company is headquartered in Brisbane and in recent years has made other investments in developing training facilities near Brisbane Airport.
NIOA’s Canberra office, which is positioned to support the company’s efforts to secure additional government contracts, was launched just a few weeks after Pyne announced that NIOA had been awarded an AUD95 million (USD72 million) contract to supply more than 30 different types of munition for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) over the next five years.
