European Defence Agency steps up its cyber focus

For the first time the focus of the European Defence Agency’s (EDA's) annual conference was exclusively on one topic: cyber, reflecting the importance the agency attaches to the domain.

Cyber has quickly developed as a priority for the EDA, said Wolfgang Roehrig, programme manager and project officer for cyber defence at the agency. When he joined the EDA in 2012, the military aspects of cyber security were a much smaller focus for most people, he said, something that has rapidly changed over the years.
