US Army seeks radical ideas for PNT systems

07 December 2017

The US Army is seeking proposals to conduct research and development (R&D) that will improve and enhance current and future positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) capabilities.

The goal of the effort is to provide technical capabilities that will enable soldiers to continue operations in hostile radio frequency and GPS-denied environments, according to the solicitation.

The army is emphasising approaches that address the different challenges presented by conducting operations in urban environments.

To achieve this, the Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center’s (CERDEC’s) Command, Power and Integration (CP&I) Directorate will pursue the design, development, integration, and demonstration of technologies and system attributes pertaining to a variety of areas of interest.
