The Ecuadorian Army has signed a deal with Airbus Helicopters for two AS 350B3 Ecureuil helicopters reportedly worth USD5.4 million, the country’s Ministry of Defence reported on 29 November.
The deal includes training for six pilots and 12 technicians, and a three-year technical warranty. The platforms are to be delivered within six months. The aircraft will replace an army Fennec E-380 helicopter, also manufactured by Airbus, which crashed in Pastaza province in November 2015 with no fatalities.
