Controp to supply Vietnamese Navy with EO/IR sensors

Israeli electro-optics supplier Controp Precision Technologies has secured a contract to provide an electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor system known as the iSea-40HD to the People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN) Navy.

The contract is a follow-on order for a similar system made by the service three years ago, said the company. However, no further details were given on the number of systems supplied, nor the type of platforms on which the sensors will go onboard.

According to specifications provided by the company, the iSea-40HD Maritime EO/IR P, weighs 29 kg and is incorporated with a thermal camera with continuous optical zoom, a full HD day camera, and an optional laser pointer and laser rangefinder.
