The US Air Force (USAF) awarded Lockheed Martin a USD131 million contract for follow-on production of Paveway II Plus laser guided bomb (LGB) kits, according to a company statement.
Lockheed Martin said the contract represents the ninth consecutive year in which the USAF selected the company to provide the majority share of LGB kits in the annual competition. The award also includes available funding for the service’s foreign military sales (FMS) and replacement kits.
Joe Serra, Lockheed Martin missiles and fire control precision guided systems director, said on 25 October via a spokesperson that deliveries are planned to begin in the third quarter of 2018 and end one year later.
