MBDA has signed an agreement with Australian firm Cablex, a specialist in electrical and mechanical systems, to support subcontracting opportunities emerging from the European company’s bid to supply the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with its Missile Moyen Portee (MMP) anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
MBDA said on 28 September that its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Victoria-based Cablex would enable the two companies to explore global supply chain opportunities, initially with the MMP and longer term “on a wide range of capabilities relevant to Australia”.
The partnership is in line with the Australian Industry Capability (AIC) programme, which obliges foreign equipment manufacturers to facilitate local companies’ entrance into their supply chains.
