As the European leader in energetic materials for the defence and security markets, Eurenco (Stand 07-B33) is presenting its innovative solutions for ‘enhanced performance’ weapons at IDEX this week.

The French company’s combat-proven modular charges for 155mm artillery systems are already in operational service with several Middle East customers. With more than 1.3 million modules having been manufactured to date, Eurenco has invested in a new automated production line which will be commissioned in 2017.

Its current production line for base-bleed grains, designed to reduce drag in 155mm extended range ammunition, makes use of thermoplastic technology that provides outstanding mechanical properties and is well-suited for complex shapes.

Eurenco owns two of the world’s renowned propellant brands, namely Bofors Powders and PB Clermont, which provide high quality extruded and spherical powders for military ammunition in calibres such as 5.56mm, 7.62mm and 12.7mm.

With an annual production output of more than 2,500 tonnes – the largest production capacity in Europe – Eurenco now offers innovative technologies, such as its new TZ temperature stable propellants.

Besides high explosives for bombs and warheads, including IM (insensitive munitions), Eurenco is also the preferred partner of key European missile and ammunition companies.

Its new generation Hexomax, an RDX-based plastic explosive block designed for breaching, cutting and explosive ordnance disposal, has been combat proven by the French armed forces.
