Virtual reality [IDEX17D1]

18 February 2017

Finnish company Frestems is launching it ViTE, Virtual Treatment Environment, a virtual reality tool and process for the creation of military ambulance treatment environments.

The system reduces the development time and gives medics an accurate and real understanding of the treatment ergonomics right from the beginning, reducing the project risks.

Inside the virtual ambulance the designer and medic can sit in the same position as medics will in the future ambulance, so that the ergonomics can be designed jointly.

ViTE additionally aids the formulation of maintainability aspects during the early stages of development, by allowing the designers to assess accessibility factors and maintenance clearance before actual prototypes are put into production. The system will be demonstrated on Stand 07-A44.

Frestems designs, engineers and manufactures patient evacuation equipment and complete interior solutions to meet the most demanding requirements for military ambulances and evacuation vehicles.
