AAD encourages future workforce [AAD16D1]

14 September 2016

The Youth Development Programme (YDP), which aims to create awareness about careers in the defence and aviation sectors, is an integral component of AAD. It provides a platform for South African youth, especially engineering and science graduates, to interact with the defence and aviation sectors and to identify bursary opportunities in these sectors.

During the Trade Days, a group of Grade 9 to Grade 12 learners, with their teachers, have been invited to visit the show and they will be exposed to many exciting activities.

Based on the success of the YDP since it was first introduced in 2002, YDP 2016 promises to present a well planned and co-ordinated youth programme.

The sponsors generously supporting the YDP programme are Airbus Defence & Space, sa express, SAP, Armscor, ATNS, CAASA, Canvas and Tent, CSIR, Denel, the Defence Department of South Africa, GEW technologies, Gauteng, Indra, T & D, Weatherhaven RCS and Mango.
