Barrett Communications, the Australian specialist in commercial and tactical HF and VHF radio communication systems, has been awarded a significant contract with the National Defence Force of an undisclosed East African nation.
The first phase involves the supply of PRC-290 Tactical HF systems, in Manpack configuration (pictured below), which will be used for both voice and data, via the company’s CLOVER modems.
In-country training will be provided to enable the customer to be fully self-supporting. Managing director Greg O’Neill commented: “This is a new end user for Barrett Communications and we are pleased that many years of work in this country have resulted in this significant award.”
At AAD (Hangar 5, Stand CE16), Barrett will be showcasing its extensive range of communications solutions, including the recently announced 4050 HF softwaredefined radio (SDR, top).
