As part of its support to the military in the region, BAE Systems (Hall 6, Stand B606) is demonstrating its capabilities across the land, air and electronic systems businesses, focusing on key products and technologies that are perceived to be of most interest to the special operation forces and militaries from Jordan and the region as a whole.
Products highlighted include the combat-proven M777 155mm lightweight towed howitzer, the multirole/swing-role Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft and Hawk advanced jet trainer, and several electronic systems, such as ATIRCM (Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures), CMWS (Common Missile Warning System), APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System laser and guided rocket, and GXP (Geospatial Exploitation products).
Andy Crisp, vice president, Near East and Africa, commented: “From a regional perspective, SOFEX is an important show for us and there are a number of opportunities throughout the Middle East. SOFEX gives the perfect opportunity to demonstrate a number of our products and technologies. We are particularly pleased to be showcasing APKWS, as the Kingdom of Jordan was the first international customer for the laser-guided rocket.”
