The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the Japan Ministry of Defense's Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency, in co-operation with the US Navy (USN), have conducted the second flight test of a Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA missile defence interceptor on the same day that Raytheon Missile Systems was awarded a contract to build a further 17 SM-3 Block IIA all-up rounds.
