UK minister for defence acquisition seeks US participation in strategic assessment

The new UK government minister responsible for defence acquisition for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) told reporters in Washington, DC, on 28 July that a meeting with Pentagon leaders was held in part to seek US participation in Britain's Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR).

On his visit to the United States, Philip Dunne, minister of State for Defence Procurement, met on 28 July with US deputy secretary of defence Robert Work and Under Secretary Frank Kendall, who oversees the US Department of Defense's (DoD's) acquisitions, technology, and logistics office.
