International flight trip support provider UAS (Hangar 2, Stand CP4) has appointed nine country managers across Africa as part of a major drive to expand in the continent.
Earlier this year, the company opened a continental office in Johannesburg, South Africa, which acts as an operations centre and dispatch office, and regional offices in Lagos, Nigeria, and Nairobi, Kenya. The new country managers have been appointed in these three countries, plus Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana and Mali. This is the first step in the company’s plan to have a local manager in every country in Africa.
UAS provides support to a range of clients, including private individuals, corporate flight departments and governments. The company is something of a specialist in obtaining flight clearances throughout Africa. Part of its strategy to provide the best service possible is to leverage local knowledge. UAS country managers will work with local ground handlers to enhance the safety of operations, minimise language barriers and co-ordinate credit for aviation fuel and services. With access to all ramp activities, they can ensure timely ground handling services and fuel delivery.
