Push to talk gets personal (ES14E4)

19 June 2014

Secure, reliable voice and data communications for squad and higher echelon teams are vital in dismounted, vehicular or amphibian operations.

Therefore, Portuguese defence communications company EID’s launch of the latest personal radio in its TWH-100 series comes at an opportune time. The TWH-104 brings new features for different tactical scenarios, such as extended range communications and a GPS/ GLONASS receiver for automatic position reporting.

EID’s family of personal radios provides full-duplex voice conferencing, email, chat and real-time video streaming. For a very high-level security on the transferred audio and data streams, it features AES encryption with downloadable security keys. According to EID, it can be seen as a wireless extension for an intercom system and combat net radio, which allows user connection to the vehicle and its main radio equipment via independent ‘push to talk’ (PTT) selection. EID can be visited in Hall 5, Stand H698.
